Children of Zebulon have an opportunity to attend four schools within the Wake County Public School System. Wake County continues to stay ahead of school districts across the state and nation in end-of-course and proficiency tests, SAT scores and other performance-measuring criteria. Schools within the district have received recognition in national publications including Money and Expansion Management magazines. A wide variety of private schools and charter schools are also available in the county.
East Wake Academy (Charter School)
East Wake Academy is a public charter school. The school is funded by tax money, the way regular public schools are. However, parents have the option of sending all of their school-aged children to the same school from grades K-10.
East Wake Academy services an approximate student population of 438 in kindergarten through tenth grade all located within the same campus. With 31 full-time classroom teachers, the district's overall student/teacher ratio is 14.1:1. East Wake Academy allocates approximately $3,864 per pupil for instructional expenses. There are no restrictions based on address, income, gender, race, or ability. We currently serve students from Wake, Johnston, Franklin, Nash and Granville counties.
Zebulon Elementary School
This facility is a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade Gifted and Talented magnet school. The Gifted and Talented Program is based on the belief that every child has gifts and talents to be valued and nurtured. The program offers parents a choice of instructional programs for their children, with an extensive array of electives. This innovative approach maximizes student potential.
Wakelon Elementary School
This school follows a traditional curriculum offering students high quality
instruction, opportunities for advanced studies, creative exploration and extra-curricular activities in a nurturing educational setting with a standard academic calendar. Some of the highest-performing schools in Wake County are traditional curriculum schools.
Zebulon Middle Magnet School
The curriculum follows the philosophy that all students possess gifts and talents. Zebulon Middle offers an innovative approach to education by blending core academic studies with a wide range of elective courses. Core subjects are language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Students may choose electives from the following subjects: language arts, social studies, math, science, health, physical education, computer studies, art, music, drama, dance, vocational education, foreign language, and media. This curriculum excels in increasing academic performance.
East Wake High School
Traditional instruction is offered with advanced studies and activities in a nurturing educational setting with a standard academic calendar. The challenging curriculum and high expectations produce greater achievement and growth in students.
